V1.0 of Open Insurance API spec published

We are pleased to announce the publication of the first version of the open insurance APIs. It is based on the Swagger 2.0 specification and is meant to provide a standard format to unify how the insurance industry defines and describes RESTful APIs.

This release marks a significant milestone bringing together collaborators from across industries, to evolve the specification to meet the needs of API developers and consumers across the world in an open and transparent manner.

We will be happy to engage with developers and receive their comments and ideas to improve the specification.

If you’re an insurance company or system/software vendor and you adopt the OPIN opensource standards, please let us know. A section will be added to the website listing companies that have adopted these standards thereby building up the open insurance ecosystem.

The spec can be accessed at SwaggerHub here and on GitHub here.

Hello, Fouad,
if you have any workgroup on claims, I am ready to join it. Our API is quite different: [Build, Collaborate & Integrate APIs | SwaggerHub](https://ClaimsControl API hub)

We will improve and extend the spec where necessary to make it most usable. As for a claims working group, we’re working on forming an Oracles and Smart Contracts working group where we would like to experiment with blockchain tech in processing and settling claims. This is an important innovation area that we want to tackle.

Hello
If I’m not mistaken, you released the standard using Swagger 2.0 whereas the most recent version should be OAS 3.x. Is there a particular reason why you used the older version ?

We will be releasing an update soon.
